I've been searching for the perfect tripod for a while now - something that is small enough to fit easily into my carry-on luggage, but capable enough for use with both my phone camera and my DSLR. The MeFOTO Backpacker Air travel tripod comes as close as any that I've experienced so far and makes a great addition to my travel gear. Not to hack this post, but the head can easily be removed on the meFOTO backpacker tripod. It has the larger threads that most pan heads screw onto. However, the ball head that comes on this unit is pretty darn slick! Great review on a great tripod!

The MeFoto Backpacker Air is an ultralight, ultra compact tripod clearly designed to stow easily into a bag on the go. It is easily the smallest tripod that I have reviewed capable of getting a camera to eye level. That comes at a price though. It is hysterically unstable. I've been searching for the perfect tripod for a while now - something that is small enough to fit easily into my carry-on luggage, but capable enough for use with both my phone camera and my DSLR.
